Hager is an international family-run company where 11,500 employees all over the world develop technical solutions for installation professionals. This German company supplies products for energy supply, cable management and switchgear to companies and private individuals. Hager’s sales and marketing teams work with an innovative platform for CRM and campaign management. To make the sales and marketing processes as efficient as possible and promote adoption of the platform, Hager sought an experienced Sales & Marketing Process Expert.

Challenge: find a consultant who understands both business and IT

The Sales & Marketing Process Expert was to play a crucial role in further digitising the business processes at Hager’s Dutch subsidiary. But it was also a role that was difficult to fill. Like many positions in new technology, the job profile called for a background in both business and IT. The ideal candidate needed to be analytically strong, have experience with process support in sales and marketing and have a good knowledge of the IT platforms used in that domain. The demand for candidates that match this type of profile is many times greater than the level of supply, and required a great deal of patience on the part of the parties conducting the search. So Hager engaged New Technology Search to manage the search effectively.

Hager put forward candidates who had responded to the job advert on their website. Both groups of candidates went through the same screening process. New Technology Search conducted telephone and video interviews with the candidates and sent the CVs of the most suitable candidates and their interview reports to Hager. Subsequently, New Technology Search acted as a sounding board for Hager’s management &#8211; for example, on the topic of suitable employment conditions in the current, overstretched labour market. After a relatively short, but intensive process, Hager welcomed its new Sales and Marketing Process Expert.</p>
